There it is.
There is this lady at church who
I secretly admire. She is one of those women who just seems to be everything a
woman should be – elegant, graceful, supportive, and nurturing. She gives off
these vibes of strength and stability. I watch her as she interacts with her
husband, her kids, and other people in the church and I think to myself – “There it is. That’s what I want. I want to
get to that place.”
There is this group of people I
know who have these amazing theological discussions. Their intelligence about the Bible and the church is impressive. They have positions on every
single spiritual topic, and enjoy debating and discussing. They
amaze me with their understanding of such things and their ability to expound
on them. And so I think to myself – “There
it is. That’s what I want. I want to get to that place.”
There is this wonderful woman I
know who has dedicated her life to serving God and others in a way that leaves her fighting for personal time. She is always
full of wisdom, God stories, and new revelations. She radiates adventure and
daring faith. I am delighted to have her in my life. She inspires me and I
think to myself – “There it is. That’s
what I want. I want to get to that place.”
There is this blog I follow, by
a Christian leader that intrigues me. He writes with clarity and vision. His
perspective on life never fails to capture my attention. His life appears
incredibly organized and focused. I read his blog and I think to myself – “There it is. That’s what I want. I want to
get to that place.”
I get caught believing the lie that
spiritual depth and maturity lies in the outward measurable things such as
appearances, discipline, and good works. They are beautiful fruits and ever so
attractive to this blossoming Christian. But in my heart I know that I’m
missing the whole point. I believe that true spiritual depth and maturity lies
in simply knowing and understanding God’s love for me. Today I am saying , “There it is. God’s unbelievable, unending, unfailing and unchanging love for me. That’s
what I want. I want to get a hold of that and live in that place.”
I like this. the blog in general, and this post :-)
